Ep. 40: Pets vs Babies - a NICU nurse reveals how to cope when the stakes are high

Gunila Pedersen Season 1 Episode 40

Ever thought you couldn’t cope in vet med?

Between being understaffed, having patients coming in with no warning, upset and frustrated pet parents…

Now imagine doing the same job, but with teeny premature babies!

One of my best friends Silvia Correa is an experienced nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Liverpool.
Today we sat down and discussed how it’s possible to cope, improve AND love your job when the stakes are as high as they possibly can be.

Silvia is a goldmine of tips and tricks, and since she’s worked in veterinary clinics as well before becoming a human nurse she has a UNIQUE perspective we can learn so much from.

This episode is LOADED with nuggets useful for both the people on the floor of a busy clinic, but also for the managers that may be struggling managing a stressed and disgruntled team.

Please enjoy this episode, ideally as much as I enjoyed speaking to Silvia (also - you’ll never hear a Spanish/Liverpool mixed accent as hers anywhere else!)
